Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photojournalist and journalist who has been covering the natural and military disasters of over 45 years, focuses on the suffering of people in these areas. Curry has written about the conflict zones of Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Curry did not have the opportunity to attend one school in the cities of San Diego, Alameda Oregon, or Virginia over the course of two years, due to her family was constantly moving. Ashland was the school where Curry earned her diploma. In Medford where she began her career in broadcasting at KTVL Channel 10 as an intern. At the age 22, she was able to become the station's first female reporter. Later, she became an anchor/reporter for KGW at Portland Oregon. Then, four years later, she relocated into Los Angeles and became a journalist at KCBS TV. Through her six-year relationship with KCBS the station, she won two Emmy Awards.
